It was all okay until about 3 yrs ago when I got out of the coast guard and came home with my wife and tried to work a 8 to 5 job here in Louisiana. But things just kept going downhill. I kept getting sh1tty jobs, quitting or got fired ( I was an electrical helper ) and this year my wife and I divorced, I lost my last job, and now I am forced to live at home again with my parents. When will the downward spiral stop? Is it a curse because I got out of the Guard with greener grass syndrome? Help! Dr. Phil, Oprah, Somebody!!

Don't worry about how you got there. Just figure out how to get out. First step is to get a job - any job, you are not making a lifetime commitment to the job so you can always change jobs when you find something better. First concern is getting a paycheck and second is getting medical benefits. Once you have a source of income. find a cheap place to live. Get a small apartment, and keep expenses down. You can eat cheaply by getting nothing ready-made. Save whatever you can to give yourself some breathing space. (The one luxury I recommend is pets, possibly two cats. If you get two they can keep each other company and if you go to a rescue place you can get an older animal so you don't have to train a puppy or kitten.) Improve your skills one at time so you can get better jobs or move up where you are. Sign up a community college and take one class at a time, or more if you can manage it. (Besides improving yourself, that takes up time so you won't spend as much money doing other stuff.) You are young, you don't need to have it all together at this point. Just work on moving forward!

Your only 26 man, you'll be fine. Just don't focus on another relationship to marriage. That is where you screwed up in the first place. Marriage is a contract that does not benefit the man at all. Ever since i have been single, my career has been really good.

Have you graduated from school? That will help with the job issue, but dude. you gotta take it slowly. do some relaxing poses for about 10 minutes a day, just focusing on your breathing. take it easy, and don't beat yourself up. i suggest a counselor. i really do hope your life gets better, and i hope i helped. good luck, man.

You've done a lot in 26 years. Relax, and let time take it's course. It's bound to go up, right?

Just calm down big daddy. I'm sure everything will end up alright. You'll get your own place again and you'll find a woman who will be good to you, don't worry 'bout nothin'.
