We started a joint bank account and deposited $ every paycheck. We deposited the same amount and when we had a chance, we would raise the amount of the deposit. We started our joint account 2 years before, actually our wedding isnt until June 2008 but now we have enough for deposits. The minimum we deposit is $50 but will increase January. We also have deposited more depending on our bills and stuff. We also included most of our income tax refunds so that helped increase the total.

By the time the wedding will get closer we will probably give ourselves a tighter budget when going out, because we do not want to get a loan.

We will be asking for help from family, but we want to take care of a lot ourselves. Our budget is between $10,000 - $12,000. Ive started looking early so I am getting a lot of cheap offers. If we keep saving we will have close to $10,000 the time our wedding gets here.

You can never seem to save enough for a wedding and here is what I did. My wedding cost $30000 and I ask the bank for half.
Now a day, guest would give money as present. So after the wedding and count ur money and pay off the bank loan. You might make some extra money for the honeymoon. If you do ask the bank for loan, remember to ask if there is a penalty for paying the money back early.

I took out money from my check every time I got paid and within a few months I had a nice bit of change saved. My parents are paying for my reception and my fiance and I are paying for everything else. Having my parents help out really took a burden off of me.

As soon as he asked me, I just put away the money every month, just in case, and that was eight months before the wedding. Our total wedding cost was 15k and we paid for most.

having a small little thing in the park with a photographer, decorations, and a small receptions is going to be at least $5000. however, church weddings are double that.
