my parents are upset with me right now. i want to keep my classes they want me to drop out of (i didnt make wind ensemble) and both are pretty angry. how do i approach them? what is the best way to calm them down? my mother is threatening to go to my school herself to make me drop out. they are so mad that they keep telling me that i wont be able to get better and that i should just quit. im pretty upset and im afraid of going up to talk to them. how do i go about doing this?

Your parents want you to drop out of school?
Talk to a counselor at school, they can help you.

Your right to be upset. A knife should never leave the kitchen area and they are responsible for the well being of the children and staff while on their property. Lots of running around goes on there and if it was just left out anyone could have gotten hurt. I'm not sure what all you said to them but that's unfortunately what they have chosen to focus on your words and actions not the incident. Right now they are more concerned with one of their volunteers/parents wanting to close them down than their safety issues. You need to refocus and in a week or so calmly go back up and speak with the director again. Let them know you were upset not only by the incident but by how the staff handled it and ask them what measures will be done to ensure this doesn't happen again. Keep calm but firm in your stance and good luck.

Try your BEST to improve... honestly... if you'de like to stay in school, improve yourself instead of wasting your parent's money.
To deal with your parents:
Send them notes or letters, and place them on their bed or desk. Write reasons why you think you should stay in school, and rebound to whatever they said earlier about you not being able to do better. The next test/quiz you get. (hopefully a good grade) place it where you keep the usual notes and show them that you HAVE improved.
Eventually your parents will give in... but that does not mean you stop trying. You have to keep the good grades there so that it willnever come back to this point, because then they'll have nother excuse to drop you out. =)
Good luck!

Hey this happened to me! How old r u by the way? Just go up to them and say I wanna sit down and talk to you guys for a sec. Explain your reasons why you want to take these classes and them ask them why they exactly want you to drop out of them. If this works they will see you have responsibility and they might reason with you. Hey its worth a shot.

cross the line that has been layed in front of you show them you got spunk, don't drive it down their throats cause you sound real intent about staying the course so, just work on how to help them, some times you have to be a better mouse and help build the better mouse trap it's a no win situation for the kid but you do keep them seeing you are on the ball and they just want you less stressed or they want you to create less stress on them, see when you get their focus you also are stuck as the recipient of other focuses to so you have to play allot of dodge ball too. hey!! nobody said that role reversals don't work, there just harder to add too an all ready over stressed situation, keep baking their favorite snack allot brownie points started in the home, someday your going to have kids too, plus raising parents i did it you can to.

woooow....thats a bit harsh. The school is not going to accept that as a reason to drop out. Your parents are just throwing a tantrum. They will calm down. If you really enjoy it ask one of the teachers to talk to them.

Well, i'd speak to your school and tell them you don't want to drop those classes, they should take your side. Your parents don't sound too supportive but explain to them it's your future, they don't have to live it you do and you want to be happy and do what you are interested in. As for approaching them......say it from the doorway!

well go up to your parents and ask them if they can sit down with you and that you just want to talk to them. then have them say their arguments and you say yours. that way your parents can know what you want and you can both find a way to solve your problem and make both sides happy.
just act calm and mabe your parents will understand
mabe you could suck up to them. make your mom some tea and give your dad some food.
just dont avoid them because that creates more problems

Oh! Your parents shouldn't be talking about giving up...naturally it should be you! Anyways, I believe you have the spirit to keep going! As for your parents, let them chill for a while. Later, sit down and talk to them! Tell them EXACTLY how you feeel~
