I think it should be the official language. It is not discriminatory, why should Americans bend over all the time? if you want to live in this country then speak the darn language. Bad enough you have a hard time finding a job without being bi lingual. I'm sick and tired of loosing job offers because the next guy sucks at English and can barely spell but can speak Spanish. Enough already!!! And no I'm not a racist, I just think that fair is fair. You want to be an American - LEARN ENGLISH!!!!!

The United States has no legitimate language on the federal degree, however English is the de facto countrywide language. This implies that English is essentially the most spoken and accredited language within the US, however there is not any legitimate language. I don't forget listening to approximately a regulation they have been seeking to cross making English the legitimate language, however I wager it failed.

yes it's discrimatory! AZ just passed a proposition to make English its official language. Well- this will solve one problem. Now the spanish speaking people won't be able to vote- since the state will no longer need to print the ballot in spanish. How handy for the right wing!
Plus- no more biligual education- so they can't learn how to speak english. How nice huh? Definately designed to keep the lower class down.
People are downright bigots at heart.
this disgusts me.

English is the official language. This isn't discriminatory because You can't go to other country and try to change it's culture and it's language or their way of life, if you want to preserve your culture stay in your own country and don't try to change things!!!***

It's been the language for years.........leave it be. If you want to speak spanish, move to a spanish speaking country. Or better yet, move to Mexico and try to force them to speak english.... see how far that will go.

I think it should. Any nation needs an official language to unify the nation.
