The sun starts moving in degrees after being "in a tomb" for three days from december 22nd.
The belt of orion or (3 wise men) aligns with the star of sirius (or bethlahem) and the sun while pointing down towards earth.
certain deities claim their birthday including KRISHNA, HORUS, JESUS and MITHRA.
ALl of these deities are born under poor conditions to a virgin mother on the same day!!!!
HORUS' birth was also anounced by a star in the east and attended by three wise men. Horus was also baptized by "anep the baptiser" who like John the baptizer was decapitated. Also Horus was crucified between two thieves then buried in a tomb for three days then ressurected. Horus also walked on water......and was called the way the truth and the light, the messiah, lamb of god and word made flesh....hmmm interesting.
MITHRA was also buried for three days and ressurected from the dead.
After some study we can find about 16 crucified saviours. So why are we subject to the lies

I retract the "lies" part then.....but from a very young age i was told that there was only ever one "saviour". In school I was banned from presenting evidence like this. I suppose im calling my teachers liars.

WELL TRAVELLED can bugger off........
If you sat on a rock and watched the sun rise for a year, you would notice that it does rise in a different location eachday. SO you can stick your agnostic crap on another page. The Suns position changes relative to the on looker even if they do not move. The "tomb" refers to how the sun will not move in degrees for a period of three days from the morning of dec 21st. then on Dec 25th (still sitting on a rock watching the sunrise) the sun begins to change in degrees the direction its percieved to be heading (north).
ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS WHAT OTHER EVENTS (astro or other) occure around this time?

Well, I won't comment on the rest, but your astronomy is way off...
The sun doesn't "move" at all, it's stationary. And it's never in a "tomb." The winter solstice for the Northern Hemisphere (but not the southern, where it's the start of summer!) occurs on or around Dec. 21st depending where in the world you are -- and that's just a certain point in earth's orbit around the sun, nothing more.
The belt of Orion NEVER "aligns" with the star Sirius (they're seperated by 15 degrees or so, and are ALWAYS that far apart), and none of them ever aligns with the sun -- when both Sirius and Orion are up in the winter night sky, the sun can't be seen at all.
Oh, and one final thing: most theologians agree that jesus was born sometime in April, not december 25th. Christians celebrate "christmas" or his birth on that day because early christians borrowed the pagan winter holiday of Saturnalia to use as their own -- doesn't have any relation to when the bible says jesus was really born.
Hey, I'm a hard-core agnostic and don't believe in any of the "god" stuff -- but if you're gonna criticize it, at least get your facts right :)

We are subject to the lies because religion is the ultimate form of oppression. It was a way to control the masses when countries were invaded. The winning army would force new religions on the losers. This was very common long ago not so much today except when it comes to missionary work. For example todays christian missionaries go to impoverished countries and offer assistance but only if they would sit through a sermon. Still a form of oppression.

Why not begin with the first one, mainly that Jesus was not born on December 25th. It was more likely in the middle to end of September.

Nicky's answer regarding Pagan copying is a prime example of christian ignorance, uneducation and racists views.
fa_q_then seems to have hit the nail on the head. organized modern (less than 2500 years) is the ultimate in oppression and control.

Well if you made your question more to the point it would be easier to answer. It actually sounds like you are trying to make a statement not ask a question therefore there really is no question to be answered.

I don't understand your point.
Lies? Are you talking about how Jesus Christ is a lie?
Maybe you should clarify your point next time, but just a simple suggestion.

pagan copycats have stolen Jesus symbolic birthday. how sad :o/
to Brutal honesty heres a prime example of your ignorance:
'Mithraism was a mystery religion prominent in the Roman world. It is uncertain when it began; it is uncertain when it began; some say in the 1st century BC[1], some in the 1st century AD[2] to the 5th century AD'-wikipedia
you realize nobody knows when mithraism was written then? all the way to 5th century AD??? this was After Jesus death. i'm sorry if the facts hurt, but mithraism is a pagan copycat, among the others this person listed.

This is why I wish conservative Christians would realize that different religions are just different conventions; we follow different paths, but we will arrive at the same destination.
