The terminolgy for restricted acitivities is anything defined as "work." However, different groups of Jews have different definitions of work. Many won't drive or use electricity. (There are many additional exceptions for electricity. For instance, you can't turn on a light, but you can use one that was on before Saturday.) Playing sports are questionable.

There isn't one set of restrictions that applies to most Jews, but the most accepted custom is to avoid using electricity.

The rationale for this practice is that on the 7th day of creation, God rested, so logically, we should rest on the 7th day too.

Because they didn't Oby God's order on "Saturday" and went fishing then God made some of them monkeys and pigs, then they felt sorry for them selves and asked God For forgiveness.

its not as much "work" as it is replicateing an act of creation.

The things that are not allowed and to what degree are complicated and require intense study just to understand much less know everthing.

they aren't supposed to do any form of work, just like christians aren't supposed to on Sunday
