Cortisone?
I would be careful with anything containing cortisone. In my view it is not meant for long term use and can leach out the bones and teeth! A woman using cortisone spray for asthma finally got severe bone and joint problems.

May be you can find a better long term solution.

Yes. Anything injectable requires a presciption in the USA.

An exception is insulin, but most pharmacies make you initially document your diabetes.

Do-it-yourself cortisone is not a very good idea without a fair amount of patient education and physician control. There are serious complications possible.

Yes. You need a doctor to refer you to a Pain Specialist, which already involves two doctors, unless someone is acting unethically.

I am curious as to why you're asking this question. Obviously you've heard something about them. Cortisone and other drugs in the same family need to be used with caution, and as little as possible, due to many side effects, which I won't go into here. You can always find it from another response, I am not a physician. Or you could try another Web, or EVEN ask your doctor!! Good luck.

A doctor will give them to you. So a prescription would not be needed in the sense that a pharmacy would fill it. A script may be needed for your insurance company to pay for it. That along with the medical reports to support it. They may even need authorization prior to it being done.
