I have had horrible acne too, but now have clear skin without breakouts. What I did to get this is went to a doctor, he prescribed doxycylcline to me. It is an antibiotic that I take every day. It is low dose, but it is enough to keep the acne away. Acne is often caused by too much of a bacteria called p.acnes on the face. It is normal to have this bacteria but in acne patients it gets clogged up in our pores due to them being irregularly shaped compared to someone without acne and it gets stuck in there with the skin oils. This causes a plug up and that is what results in an acne flare. The bacteria overgrows and it spreads on the face/neck/back wherever you have it. The only way to rid of the overabundance of p.acnes is antibiotics, no facewash will help if this is your acne cause, it will demand antibiotic treatment.

A second medication I use is retin-a. This helps my skin to shed off dead cells, making my skin appear healthier. I tried so many other things, proactive, tea tree oil, tazorac etc, but nothing did my acne justice like what I am doing now. I am telling you, I swear by it

Go back to the basics:
1.wash your face regularly with a mild soap or any facial wash that prevents and fights acne.

2. do not pick your face. This is usual reason why people get lots of acne. Do not attempt self surgery!

3.hydrate yourself.

4. do not attempt to get rid of hiteheads and blackheads.

5. eat lots of tomatoes, papaya, and other fruits and veggies rich in vitamins.

6. avoid foods that can cause acne esp the oily ones

7. do no use heavy make up

8. stay away from polluted places.

9.avoid stress

10. do not self medicate. let the dermatologist determine which drug is good for you and FOLLOW the directions on how to apply it.

If it is really bad only an antibiotic from the Dr. will do it. Small doseage over a long period of time. What you can try is this. First, do not wash your face all over like normal. Go to the Dollar store and buy some witch hazel and cotton balls and a tube of antibacterial ointment, any kind you have used before, some people are allergic to bacitracin. Then when you clean your face at night take a really , really warm washcloth wet of course and put it on your face. This will soften the boils. then take a paper cup and mix some salt and hot water in it. Take a cooton ball dip it in the saltwater and put it on each boil seperately. use one cotton ball for each boil. press and squeeze a little to get the salt water in there. throw the cotton balls away. Now, wash your hands and take the witch hazel and wet it with the witch hazel, only once and put that on the boils. one at a time and throw away the cotton. Then when the face dries. Dab it with a clean washcloth.don't rub or spread around the bacteria from one to the other or cause new ones. this is a bacterial infection. Everything must be clean and don't ever touch your face and then touch it again. Wash your hands often. Even if you have to carry your own soap or antibacterial wipes in a back pack to school. Be clean, clean, clean. Then when you get ready to go to bed take the ointment and put a dab on each boil, carefully not to recontaminate the tip of the tube. Touch it only with clean finger or clean q-tip or something. This should go on for at least two weeks before you can tell if it's helping. In the morning just do the cleaning with the witch hazel if you are in a hurry. The hot washcloth and saltwater can be done anytime you are home or just to one really bad one at a time. Just always remember this is bacteria and it spreads by touch. If this doesn't help in two weeks, you must see a DR. OK? als, don't use any antitartar toothpaset. It has been known to cause breakouts around the chin, moutj and cheek area. My daughter had this and I read it in Prevention magazine, cleared her right up. Witch hazel is a natural astringent and is PH balanced. Good luck and much love coming your way. Me. I almost forgot those washcloths need to be left to dry then washed in bleach to kill any bacteria in them. You can do your own if mom doesn't just soak in a bowl of 10% bleach and water and then rinse and hang to dry. Better safe than sorry to keep spreading it. OK?

Use Ivory Soap and go ask your doctor for Bezomyacin cream (it's really a gel that dries) also keep a clean pillow case on your pillow change it like twice a week. and make sure you wash your face with ivory like 5 times a day. My sibblings all had horrible acne problems especially my brother he had it on his back chest arms and face and you now can't even tell he did. It's amazing and while everything takes a few weeks to show a differences it's amazing what this stuff does. I hope this helps.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:
