After thawing out meat in the fridge, I forgot how long its been there(a few days at the most), its been properly frozen and thawed out. Is there anyway to determine by smell or touch if its bad before its properly cooked?

if your meat has gone of it will have a slightly unpleasant odor will be dark in colour and will also have a slimy coat ,Meat should be eaten immediately after its defrosted and not left for any lenght of time in a fridge it is a very unsafe practice and can lead to food poisoning

meat that is spoiled has an old blood, kinda putrid smell. There is a lot of concern about everything in to days world. Most will tell you to throw it out, assuming you have plenty of money. If it doesn't smell strange to you cook it, eat it.

Just make sure the food in your fridge is the opposite of what they used to serve in my HIgh School cafeteria. They always had it backwards. Everyplace else I've eaten at, its the salad that's green, and the meat that's brown.

I go by the smell, if it smells I don't eat it. Also it will turn dark.

if is turns brown it is bad. I was also told that if a dog will not eat it raw, then it is bad, because they love raw good meat.

If you poke it, and it pokes back, it's probably not safe.
