We have solar showers on our boat. They make very hot water. We had a solar collector on our house that heated air and turned on a blower. It worked well. We have a solar collector on the boat that charges the batter, it works well. Many solar collectors are water heater collectors .I would think that the savings would depend on your area and weather.

It depends on quality of the water heaters. Good quality solar water heaters always have hot water, and the electric bill will be largely decreased.

I have 2 solar water heaters in my home and have had them for over 18 years. I've saved a pile of money and every time the electric rates go up I save even more. Everyone should have one. For me, it's not a political statement, it's not an environmental statement, it's a saving me money thing.
