I am in 8th grade. Is this too young for casual dating and asking someone out? Also, could you please tell me your age when you started dating? Thanks! :)

I think it all depends on why you want to start dating. Are you dating for the title of having a boyfriend? Are you dating to start your process of selection early? Or is there really someone you honestly like? I didn't have my first boyfriend until I was 17 but I come from a town with a population of around 1,500 people so there wasn't much to choose from. Good luck!

Yes ...eighth grade is too young for anything called DATING ! Dating means one to one. At this age you should be enjoying the opposite sex in group situations...Like maybe a group of boys and girls go skating or to the mall or to a football game together. One to one dating I would not recommend until about age 16. You are just becoming a young woman and you need time to discover who you are and what you own views are on life before you complicate them by having a one on one relationship. Once you are secure in who you are and where you plan to go in life...then you can begin casual dating. I started dating at 16 ..but not casually....a serious one on one relationship and now I wish I had held back even longer because we both changed alot and things were still complicated.
