Yes, you can find a job knowing only English. The knowledge of additional languages will dramatically increase your ability to market yourself to the globalized economy. However, keep in mind that English is the most widely-spoken business language in the world. If your primary focus is English, I recommend you perfect your command of it in both spoken and written terms.

I have never had a hard time finding a job knowing only English. There are jobs that pay more for bilingual employees and someone is always looking to hire someone who can speak more than one language especially Spanish in the US.. but I don't think knowing only English will make you have a lesser quality of life than those who can speak different languages. Take Care.

You can find a job which you will only have to know one language. The best scenario would be one located in a non immigrant neighborhood where the people use and interact with English as a primary language. As the country becomes more diverse and as new comers especially from Latin America come in, it might be wise to learn another language, the best being Spanish. You can get by with knowing only English but by knowing additional languages, this will broaden your horizon.

Learning spanish, or another language will make life easier for you, but I think you can make it knowing only english. Knowing a second language also may help you find a job making more money.

only if you stay in the USA or UK.
and don't go to college.
even there you need some foreign language.

most every other major country requires two or more languages from students in the grade schools.
and since we are a land of immigrants knowing two is smart and of course gives you more odds and options.
most business is now international so one language for you youngins just starting out will leave you with far less options for your futures.

Sure, but try to order lunch. Point is, it never hurts to be bilingual, especially in the future. I think eventually, Spanish is going to be like French in Canada (or English depending on your point of view).

Plenty of people in the US, Canada, Australia, etc know only the one language, but it's good to know a couple of languages. You don't have to be fluent, but know a few basic words and those terms related to your profession. It will make you more competitive in the job market.
