The Bible is not for or against anything. Two people can read the same passage and each come up with a different interpretation...this is why there are so many religions, and sects from those religions...It is obvious your friend is at peace, and it is obvious she found someone who could help her realize that we do not die.
I think you might do well to listen to your friend, and consider that there could be a much kinder reality than you believe you see in the pages of ancient script that has been interpreted and re-interpreted; translated and re-translated, from one language to another, for thousands of years...

WEll I am not a church goer, but even if I am, I don't see why it would bother me. If the message from the other side can be verified as coming from the person she wanted to contact, what is the problem? These must be things that only two of them knew, so then it was possible to verifiy that it was her dead ex communicating with her through the medium.
My brother is a church goer and yes he always goes against paranormal stuffs. He is afraid that evil will manipulate the spirit that is communicating through the medium to make people do what they are not supposed to do. But then again, evil is not God, therefore it won't know everything including what only your friend and her dead ex know.

Only 2 spiritual beings know a person's past and present- God and Satan. People who claim that they can talk to or hear from the dead are obviously in touch with Satan. If someone ( a medium) is open to letting a demon control their mind, of course Satan is going to use that to deceive the person into thinking that their deceased loved one is talking to them.
Many people are church-goers..that doesn't mean that they have a relationship with the Lord. If a person doesn't have an on-going relationship with Him, they can easily be deceived like your friend has.
Encourage her to talk to her pastor, if this is something she really thinks is true. If she really wants to know the truth, she will seek guideance from someone who has God-given wisdom.

Well, the root problem is this - professing believers who place their own subjective experience over the authority of the Bible.
Essentially, the cry of postmodernism is "I know the Bible says this, but I feel this / this happened to me - and how I feel takes precedence."
Never mind that subjective emotions constantly mislead us, never mind that something like this experience can be interpreted in any number of possible ways - and ultimately, never mind that God has unequivocally condemned this in both OT and NT.
If someone hasn't committed to making God's Word the rule of their lives, they will be swept up by all sorts of other sources of authority to interpret the world around them.
Gently, humbly remind her of what God has already said and leave it at that. Pray that the Holy Spirit will convict her of the truth of His Word and the folly of this medium and her experience.
Best to you.

Loveydovey said it best. God tells us in Deuteronomy, as well as a couple of other scriptures, that we are not supposed to go to any spirit medium and inquire about the dead. We know that the dead are conscious of nothing, so she could only have been talking to demons.

What she contacted was a demonic force. Maybe you could show her in the bible where it says that the dead know nothing and how God is displeased with mediums. Afterwards if she continues to believe, then there is really nothing you can do. You at least tried. Let her know also that Satan himself can transform himself into a Angel of light. But he is so misleading. Good Luck.

I honestly don't know what about I believe about stuff like that, but I don't think it's natural and I know I don't play around with anything unnatural lightly. If she leaves it at this then and doesn't try to contact him again or anything, I would let it go. If she starts getting obsessed with the whole thing, then I would talk to her.

Ghosts are everywhere. IF the dead person is still contactable then he is not peaceful. That's a crock of
Anyone in a ghost body is miserable and stuck between worlds. So I doubt that the person actually contacted them because the dead person would have said "pleas help me get out of this situation." For universal truhs go to http://www.stephen-knapp.com

It is alarming and I share your concern. Part of me thinks it's good that she has that peace and closure but the other part thinks the medium is able to read folks expressions and tell them what they want to hear. In other words she was validated. It's a slippery road to be on and hopefully down the road she will realize it.
