Never, apple sucks! Ipods suck! They never intended to write software for anything under windows 2k. Every venture apple has tried has been a failure! Everything they do has to be different! The Ipod for instance needs special software in order to use it on a PC! What a laff! I aint gotta have special anything to trade music and video files on a PC with my player! Now their latest adventure is allowing you to install windows based operating systems on a Mac! What a joke! They have finally figured out that in order to corner a piece of the home computer market is to run Microsoft software! If your gonna buy one for that purpose, get a PC to begin with!
Pinkhalo, what are you talkin about? LOL!!!

So you asked a simple question and all you got was Windows bashers...... seems fashionable these days with people trying to be cool. Windows will be with us for a very long time.... its on 90% of home PCs worldwide. So your question...... no, they have no reason to do iTunes for 98. If your machine is that old just get Limewire and go from there. But you could skip all of that. If you are getting into music and want to transfer to an ipod or whatnot you will still have compatabilty issues. But you could go to Best Buy and buy a $300 dollar computer that is 10 times faster, more drive space and XP.

No word yet from Apple.
There is an iPod driver for Win 98, but iTunes really requires 2000 or XP. On 98, you can use RealPlayer, Sharepod, Yamipod, Ephpod and others (not Windows Media Player though).
