Yes. You're also not supposed to kill medics, but you think anybody follows the 'rules'?

there is no such rule, and there have been several officers killed by their own men in combat, mostly the 90 day wonders etc who act as if they are gods gift to the earth and mistreat their men and get them so pissed that when they do get a chance their a.. is shot, some make the men hate them knowing that they will end up in combat together, makes you wonder how they passed the aptitude test to become a officer, a officer who shows his men he is for them and looks out for them , his men will look out for him , but, some people are just plain stupid , even officers

There was a Gentleman's code if you will around the 18th century but that has long since been buried. In war they are the ones you try and kill first. Cut off the head and the snake dies.

There is no such rule. In fact the reason NCOs and officers dress like the troops is because otherwise snipers will pick on them.

kill officers - never!
in Nam, they just fragged them .
# In the context of war, a frag is commonly known as an assassination of an unpopular member of one's own fighting unit, by dropping a fragmentation grenade into the victim's tent.
# A military term for a fragmentation grenade.
Wife of a Nam Vet, and very proud of him!
