it's called septra... just not sure if it would be bad to discontinue the antibiotics, cause i of course dont want my sinus infection to come back, but i have no idea when i would be able to go to the doc again... see my dilema? thanks in advance! oh and i have exactly 4 days left in the prescription. the hives are bothersome enough, but the antihistamine helps a bit.

Well... if the allergic reaction isn't severe, I suppose you could, but I wouldn't reccommend it. The reaction could worsen and become dangerous. I'd call your doctor right away. They should be able to write you a new prescription for something else without you needing to schedule a new visit.

please be very careful, hives are a serious allergic condition. I would stop taking the antibiotic if it was breaking me out in hives.
I know doctor's can be a pain, but it's worth a try to call and tell your dr. what has happened, and see if they will write you another prescription, or call one in to your pharmacy. just tell them that you can't afford to let the infection come back, and you also can't afford to pay another office call. it's worth a try.
I have had severe allergic reactions to medications, foods, insect stings and so on, and it scares me to hear that you have broken out in hives. be extremely careful, and if you feel any tightening in your throat or chest, or swelling in your tongue, lips, or eye lids, get to an emergency room a.s.a.p.
I know you said you're taking an antihistimine, but you didn't say which one. benadryl is probably the best over-the-counter one that you can get, so I'd take 50mg. or two tablets every 4 to 6 hours. if your throat is itchy or bothering you, you can take the liquid kind for kids instead. my allergist says that actually works better because it get's into your system faster. be extra careful if you decide to go ahead and take your antibiotic.
I will sincerely keep you in my prayers.

You shouldn't take the antibiotics if you are having an allergic reaction. Call your doctor. They can call a new prescription into the pharmacy without seeing you again.

You need to call your doctor...It could be an allergic reaction to the medicine. You need to complete all antibiotics or your infection will return but you probably need to stop them until you notify your doctor and he will change them to something else if you are allergic to the medication,.
