When the Bible says Acts 15:24,28,29 ...For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

In reference to this declaration of scripture that I ask the question. The list of dos and don'ts become very short here and any interpertation of scripture that would not be congruent is claimed by this scripture to be false. If one stays with the original languages and there meanings it is clear that only the sexual sin of fornication ( "pornea" , meaning commerce or forced sex) is forbidden. All other traditions are extra-biblical dogma.

Honestly, folks I had this question on here in other words and a "loving" participant chose to react and report rather than answer. I mean to offend no one just further my research, thank you for your input.

I don't agree with casting "per-verbial stones" at anyone. We are not the ones that are given the right to judge. But I can tell you why homosexuality is looked down upon if someone truly wishes to serve God. Homosexuality is condemned in the Bible. In both the Hebrew (old) and Greek (new) scriptures, homosexuality is condemned. In 1 Cor. 6:9, 10, homosexuals are lumped in with fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, theives, and extortioners as ones that will not inherit God's kingdom.

When reading the Bible, you have to take the whole book into account. You have to be willing to accept God's thinking on all matters. He created us; he knows what's best for us; he instituted the marriage arrangement. God has never condoned same-sex relationships, and since God is the same from time indefinite to time indefinite, we can be sure he still feels the same as he did when he had the Bible penned.

You are supposed to love the sinner and hate the sin. We all sin, I think it is impossible not to, so yes, no one really has a right to throw stones BUT this does not mean you get the church to glorify a sin, nor allow it's leaders to practice a serious sin (like child molestation). The most severe Bibical references to homosexuality were watered down when King James revised the Bible, (some infer he had a intrest along those lines). Read a text from before the revision and you'll see more on the subject. So, while you are not supposed to hate a person for their sin, you are not supposed to be brow-beat by political correctness into accepting the sin as ok to practice. But I'm just ticked because of all these cannibalphobes out there who can't accept the fact there is plenty of evidence of cannibal behaviour as "normal", no affirmative action for us, we have to suffer persecution, paranoia and ridicule. PS - Thanks for the ear.

Well the Sodomites were into a lot of different sort of idolatrous and sexual iniquities. When the Angles came to destroy Sodom & Ghomorah and went into Lots house. The Sodomites demanded Lot's guests to come out and have sex with them. (The legal system of the day had newcomers have sex initiation.) The angels blinded them so they couldn't find Lot's door. They were so agressive.

So? What does that tell you?

Read Exodus 20 & Romans 1 for further reasons why sexual immoral behavior (adultery) is sin.

Stoning was the penalty for homosexual practice (Leviticus 20:13), and this whole chapter lists stoning as the punishment for many other practices viewed by God as abominations. It should be added that capital punishment was God's way of underscoring the seriousness of sin and of His intention that the Israelites not share in the evil practices of the surrounding nations. Generally speaking, even the New Testament upholds the truth that the penalty of sin is death. However, whereas the death penalty of the Old Covenant was to be carried out immediately, the death sentence under the New Covenant is delayed and ultimately an eternal death penalty of the soul existing in Hell apart from the mercy of God---or, people can choose to place trust in the sin-bearer, Jesus Christ, and to allow him to pay the death penalty for them by way of the Cross. Death and damnation are not the primary will of God. (Ezekiel 18:23,32) They are the 'Plan B,' if you will, and are required by his Holiness and just judgment of sin. His first desire and His 'Plan A' are grace and salvation to those who will repent and believe. ~C

Sometimes, letting go seems like the easiest thing to do. But think about this: you've invested so much of your time and energy into another person; you've made a solemn promise; and you still know there's love, even if it's hiding underneath the surface. This website will show you how to save a marriage and avoid divorce, even if you're the only one trying https://tr.im/Dl94N

The Bible describes the lifestyles of the residents in Sodom. Therefore, those that engage in similar lifestyles and habits are justifiably called Sodomites. (admittedly, not a PC word.)
Genesis, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Amos, Zephaniah, Matthew, Mark, Luke, 2 Peter, Jude, and Revelation ALL speak of Sodom and its sin or wickedness.

You are completely correct. It doesn't make sense. That is because people's objection to homosexuality is due to hatred. "Morality" is a media codeword for hatred against a group. Most references people make in the bible about homosexuality are either the opinion of a person in the bible (and not the word of God) or attributing homosexuality to a group or event and then claiming it was their sin.

The Bible states many references to "Men abusing themselves with mankind"...However,I am NOT your judge or condemn you to anything! GOD is calling only a select few at this time and is NOT JUDGING the majority of mankind at this time! And anyone who DOES condemn you is going to recieve the SAME treatment back at them! GOD demands we LOVE others--NOT CRUSH THEIR HOPES AND DREAMS! While it is true we must stand up and call SIN a SIN--we cannot-MUST NOT-condemn others made in the very IMAGE of GOD HIMSELF! And if you have been condemned unjustly,I am so sorry...This does NOT come from The Great God Who will invite you into His Ruling Royal Family one day...God is 100% serious in SAVING you! NOT destroying you! THAT is the doctrine of demons--Enough Said!

The meeting in Jerusalem was to address the Judaisers who were saying that one had to keep the ceremonial law to be saved. The decision was to not give in and not to compel anyone to keep the ceremonial law (to be circumcised to be saved). This in no way abridged the moral law which is still upheld in the entire New Testament. Your way of thinking means I can rape and kill also because there is no law. This is not what is taught in Scripture. Jesus says if you love Me "Keep my commandments" How can He say this if there are no commandments.
