well here is my theory. God told the angels to bow before man. The angels could not handle change. they clung to there old ways and there old belief system. They would not open there minds to a new idea. So they missed the bus they didnt get it and they placed themselved in hell. does this sound familiar to our Relgions today. Do they touch the heart of man or are they just stale old ideas that no longer jive with what people feel.
You could take it as history and be stale or the lesson its supposed to be.
When the old ways dont touch the heart Someone comes, Like Budda to stir things up. Or Jesus to say to the pharisees the old ways are wrong this is what touched the hearts of people now. Do we act like the angels or the pharisees or the old hindu priests and cling to the old ways or do we open our heart to the new ideas God is teaching. God will get his way if we get on the bus or not.

Very good question. I would say Lucifer was very persuasive and somehow, I don't know how, was able to convince them that his way was better than the Lords. Silly spirits. It is too bad they will never have a body and be in eternal darkness with Satan forever. Can you imagine how many more people would have lived and still live on the earth if we were ALL here??? Wow.

Easy--Satan's crafty ways. Satan is able to transform himself into an angel of light. He can make things seem so simple and so innocent. He can even make us (and angels apparently) feel that we have the right to certain things even if we truly don't. The Bible tells us that he works on our own desires. When these desires become fertile, they give way to sin. The angels in Noah's day saw the women and wanted them. This was not their place. They had no right to materialize and take earthly women as wives. Yet, they did. Satan no doubt egged them on in thinking that it was all ok. That they had the right to enjoy life as a human and have things that were intended to be for humans only. Satan is very crafty! He is able to mislead many.

God making humankind to be greater than angels and insisting that the angels serve us.
Standard jelousy with a little pride thrown in. Pre-human angels were the bomb but when God decided that God wanted something better they got their feelings hurt. Especailly when they found out how fragile, powerless and flawed we are.

(book of Job) A very deceptive angel that hated God and thought that he should be above God,... Satan. When he thought this he tricked one third of the angels in heaven into following Him in this decision. God then learned of it and cast them out of heaven.
Satan hates everything in Gods creation, yes, even man. He wants to see that everything that is Gods and He has created. Distroyed. (book of Genisis)That is why he appeared as a snake in the garden of Eden and TRICKED Eve into eating the fruit that her and Adam might die. Because in Eden they had eternal life but when they were exiled from Eden they died.

Was it one third of the angles or one third of each angle? Because that would mean all the building in heaven are leaning. I missed that part of the bible. Maybe Heaven is full of circular architecture.
