RELIGION is sitting in a church pew, thinking about fishing.
SPIRITUALITY is sitting in a boat fishing, thinking about GOD!

"Religious" means that one follows the guidelines of a set religion. "Spiritual" has to do with the beliefs themselves. I would hope that all religious people are spiritual, but I completely understand that not all spiritual people are religious.

If you separate the two, I would say being "spiritual" is having some sort of relationship or belief in the Lord.
Religious would probably be someone who follows what their "religion" teaches.
Put them together and what a great person!

Religion is man made. It's a set of rules and regulations of whatever particular religion they pertain to. Spirituality is a part of a person, the God center that comes from within.

Spiritual implies a general feeling that there is something greater than yourself in this world, and you can show reverence in any way you choose.
Religious implies more of a structure--you won't find tradition or doctrine within Spirituality, but you will within Religion.

Religious to me means following a certain religion with all its rules and customs. Being spiritual doesn't mean following certain rules and customs. It simply means to believe in a "higher power".

God wants us to worship Him in Spirit and Truth. That means in the Spirit (spiritually) and honest from the heart.
Religious is works done that we think is right. Perfect religion before God is to help the widows & orphans, etc... and keep self from sinful living.

Adherance to dogma and doctrine of a specific group makes a person religious.
Having connection with that which is divine makes one spiritual.
If you are one it by no means means toy are the other.

being spiritual is loving GOd in your way and bettering your life, religious is about following a groups belief.

Religon takes Place in the Soul (second Mind) and is called False.

spiritual ( to me anyway ) is feeling a connection with all
being one with the earth , people and the universe
feeling that there is a part of us that is higher
religion is grouping people together who have similar belief sytems thats all
you can have one without the other and often this is how it is
but you can have both
