I just love you so called "Christians" who are too chicken to believe the truth for fear of ridicule. Its quite simple, you either believe the bible, as God's word , or you don't. Its not a buffet.
Even aside from the book of Genesis, the bible speaks of God's creation throughout. So if you don't believe in creation, where exactly do you "sign on" with biblical belief? When God created the universe and life, he said "it is good". There is nothing good about evolution, its a kill, survival, barbaric process, and God would never say that it is good. It clearly states that he created man in his own image. I don't know how anyone can claim to believe both the bible and evolution. It can't be done, without lying to yourself. The best book I read on this topic, is John MacArthurs "The battle for the beginning"

I do not believe in theistic evolution because it is not biblical. The Bible says that God was actively involved in our creation, and that people, animals, and plants are made from "different fleshes." We are not all the same or related and fall into different categories.

I don't think the Bible rules out evolution unless you believe that
the seven days of creation where 168 hours.

I don't think the Bible is necessarily undermined, because I don't take the creation story literally, nor much of the Old Testament, really.
