Here is an old Irish blessing to say when a friend is leaving on a trip:
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
With love in Christ.

I can appreciate you asking and wanting to fulfill their wish, but honestly speaking the best prayer you can say is the one that comes from your heart not necessarily a well known rehearsed version , just say what you are feeling and believe in your heart.

Here is the type of prayer you can pray if you are a believer:
Dear Lord, I pray for my friend __________ right now. You said in Your word that we could bring our requests before You and I do so simply wanting the very best for my friend. Lord, you know where they are going and what they plan to do. Oh, God, please grant them traveling mercies. Please come to them and reveal Your love and mercy to their hearts. Please watch over them, lead them and guide them. Lord, I commit them to Your wonderful care and I thank You that I can pray as I do now. What a wonderful privilege it is to pray!! Oh, God, bless, I pray, and do not curse. Do not forsake my friend or leave them. Let Your holy will be accomplished in their lives..... I look to You, Lord and I praise you and I thank You! In Jesus' name..... amen
Now, if you are not a believer, if you really do not have a relationship with God whereby you know that He is your heavenly Father, you must ask His forgiveness for your sins and find peace with God in your heart first...

Just pray this:
Oh Heavenly father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. I pray for the safety of my friends NAME . Keep this safe on this trip. Take them thre safely and bring them home safely. Bless this trip Lord. Give them safety and peace. I ask you to bless them. I pray a protective hedge around them in the name of Jesus Christ, to keep them safe. I pray the blood of JEsus Christ over them. that I may know they are kept safe. I leave them in your ever loving arms dear father, and I stand on your promises to answer prayer. Thank you Lord. In the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN That will do it. ANd just learn to pray from your heart. You dont have to worry about using glowey words, and having long flowering prayers. God knows your heart. and, He just wants you to learn to pray to Him, by simply just talking to Him. Do it all in the name of Jesus Christ. That is how God says we are to pray, thru Jesus Christ, and Jesus only. God says there is no other way. I will pray for your friends too. so will Christians that read this. Protect them dear Lord. Thanks for answered prayer, as I know you have heard and will answer alrady.Thank you Jesus...

^_^ Prayers aren't written in stone; you say what you want to say.
Your friend probably just wants you to pray for their safety and a smooth flight, why not just try asking God for those things? :)
