About $26 - $28 in grocery stores.
I live in Virginia. When I go to upstate New York to visit relatives, I buy a carton here first!

That completely depends on your location and what brand of smokes you are getting. My husband smokes Marlboro Reds. If I buy them in Nebraska at Wal-mart they run about $36. Same carton in Iowa is around $29 - $32. Taxes are awful in some states. New York is another state that is atrocious with cigarette taxes.
Now if you buy a cheaper brand or even a generic brand, they' would be a lot less than $36.
I wish my husband would quit!!

Here in California, it's costs $39.99 plus tax ($2.97) for a grand total of $42.96 for a carton of Marlboro 100's...
Fortunately, we won't have to pay the new taxes that could have resulted if Proposition 86 had passed: It would have boosted cigarette taxes by $2.60 a PACK ($26.00 a carton)...
Imagine, $69 dollars a CARTON !!

Around $20 in mid-TN. But in my opinion, since you didn't ask for it... way too much to justify tarring up your precious little lungs!
Sorry... got carried away there. I'll get off my soapbox now.
