I'm really confused...would I want to eat carbs? or fat? What would I want to go into my body and what wouldn't I like to?

Ideally you would like to lower both carbs and fats. Eat healthy unsaturated fats. Foods such as almonds, fish, peanuts, and avocados are good sources. If carbs are eaten, limit them in the aftrenoon and try whole grains like whole wheat, beans, and oatmeal.

How much weight do you want to lose and how fast? There are many ways to go about doing so...most aren't very healthy in the long run. My suggestion would be to clean up your diet, no processed foods. Add a serving of protein to each meal (eggs, protein powder, cottage cheese, milk, tunafish, etc.) Try to eat 5 small meals a day...it keeps your metabolism running better. Drink lots of water and limit your carb intake in the evening. Healthy weight loss cannot be acheived by diet alone, although that is a big factor...make sure you get plenty of cardio AND strength training as well! A great resource for all of this is the e-book Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle. Look it up in a search engine and you will find it. Helped me lose those last 15 pounds. Good luck!

Find a diet that works with carbs and fat along with some of the foods that you like. with this type of diet you are more willing to keep the weight off that you lose and enjoy staying on it for a long period of time if need be.

Best of Luck !

What would drop the weight faster would be exercise. If you are not use to exercising, start off slow, you will increase in time. I started out walking only 7 minutes (263 pounds). I now weigh 151 pounds and jog 3-5 days per week for about an 1hour.

The ridiculous "low-carb" or "low-fat" debate...
Here's my opinion. I don't do fat. At all - I'm ALL ABOUT CARBS. I would say about 90% of my diet is carbs. and the majority is COMPLEX carbs.
I'm 5'5 and 98 lbs. I found that eating this way is GOOD for taste, Good for convenience, and good for preparation time. I mean, who wants to sit around and cook steaks every day/? Gross.
Oh, I'm a vegetarian too...

Well, first off - you have to eat the right foods. I've found that when I exercised regularly I didn't eat as much. But I did eat about three times a day. Just whatever you do, don't starve yourself. Realize it's not just food, it's exercise. Eating less might make you lose weight but exercise will tone your body so you're not all flab. But you probably look fabulous anyway. Best of luck!

I'm in the same boat as you are..I tried Jenny Craig, which was my last resort, and well that **** didn't work. I'm sorry I love myself and it is hard to deprive yourself of all the wonderful foods out there..However, I am still insecure about my weight, so I decided to take action. After my disapointment with Jenny I decided that there is no "quick Fix" it's gotta be a lifestyle change. So I got "DIETING FOR DUMMIES", which is an awsome book, it lays down all of the nity grity details on what you should do and not to do, it also let's you know what you should weigh, not what the media thinks you should weigh. So you might want to try that out!

Eat a balanced diet including plenty of protein, complex carbs (not white bread, etc), and healthy fats (unsaturated from fish, nuts, soy, etc). To lose weight you need to decrease calories overall, not carbs or fat. I highly recommend a free website called sparkpeople that should help you reach your goals.

If you are serious about losing weight, the calories
in the food you eat should be less than the
energy you use. You will have to increase your
metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will
lose weight faster. More details available at
