I would actually characterize us as more of a virus than a parasite.. although viruses are in a sense parasitic, at least when it comes to their mode of replication.

We have infected the Earth and are bound and determined to destroy it.

So to answer your question, YES, I do believe we are the WORST thing to happen to the earth. Whether one would want want to say parasite or virus I think is probably a matter of preference.

Technically, No.

Parasites have a symbiotic relationship with another plant or animal, feeding on the creature, and perhaps weakening it, but not killing it. As such, its life-cycle includes at least a time attached to or living within that creature.

However, we fit the definition of predator. This is similar to a coyote. When coyotes over hunt an area, coyote populations drop. This may happen to us, too.

The world was created for humankind to inhabit.

If you don't know this, then you might consider humans to be parasites. But this presumes some sort of worth to the world apart from those who seek meaning within it. That is, if the world is the world without people, there is nothing good or bad about it. It is just some earth, some water, some trees, some air, some plants, some animals, some minerals, and so forth, whose design and purpose mean nothing apart from themselves.

Human beings do murk up the natural order, that's for sure. That's part of our job--to mess up what is ordered and perfect, so that we may see ourselves to be failures and seek mercy from something higher than ourselves--namely, our designer, and the source of our purpose and meaning.

Goodness, no.
A sinful creature who sometimes misuses what was given to us, yes. A parasite, no.
