It's better to get the braces over now than be my age and have them trust me....9th grade is considered pretty normal for people to have braces. Besides after they are off your teeth will look awesome. By the time I got mine I already suffered gum damage because I had overcrowding in my mouth and not enough gum tissue for all of them....Be grateful you are getting them fixed now! My parents were too cheap to do it. Besides guys will find all sorts of different ways of judging girls if they are jerks. It's the nices guys who don't care if you have braces or not. They care about what kind of person you are and your sense of humor etc.....I know it sounds cliche but not everything is based on appearances....
You'll be fine and you'll be glad when you have those braces off and your teeth look perfect!
Good luck with your braces! I hate mine!!!! I do all sorts of things with mine. I get colored ties on mine in all sorts of patterns. At 31 I don't even care anymore!!!! Have fun with it. They can be painful at times so make the best out of an awkward situation!

I know its hard when you first get braces, but try not to worry about it too much and think about how good your teeth will look in the long term. A year or two of feeling a bit awkward will be worth it, trust me.
As for the guy, if he is shallow then yes it will bother him. If he is a nice guy then it won't.
If it does bother him, ask yourself would you really want a boyfriend that is that shallow and judges you entirely on appearance.

There is nothing wrong with braces. If a guy looks at you different then he's an asshole.

i individually in no way had braces, so i would not comprehend, yet i used to envision magazines wherein persons somewhat have been given caught. tell her to ease up on it and that it is totally uncommon for that to take place.

Unfortunately some people will look at you differently, for they are shallow and empty. But don't worry about what others think. If people can't accept you for who you are, then the h-ell with them. You don't want people like that in your life anyway.
