Being in love is very unique feeling and you cannot easily mistake it for some other feeling. When you feel it, you simply know that is it. There is no real formula for behavior when you are in love, so some people become extremely shy, some other too talkative etc. But definitely is someone changes his behavior toward you, starts listening to you much more carefully, showing attention in some small ways or looking at you often and long... That could be it!

Behavior speaks volumes (words often lie); if someone is in love, they care about the other persons well being, both physical & mental.
If you care how the other person is doing and NOT what you are getting out of it (attention, money whatever) then you may be in love and visa-versa.
