It isn't.... at all. Read the book "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkings... He deals with how religion is given an unfair status as undiscussable. When only a few believe in some form of religion, observers are viewed as cultists and insane.. When the masses believe, it becomes taboo to talk about. Is there REALLY anything different about believing that Flying Spaghetti Monsters control everything instead of the Christian view of god? Many people will say yes, but just refer to my above comment.

To the people who rank down anything against religion: Thanks for proving my (and the others') point. Presumably you believe in freedom of speech? Presumably you believe in democracy? So why do you take it upon yourself to infringe on others' freedom of speech? Why is your religion above my views? Tolerance? Isn't that one of the ideals that you are supposed to abide by?

The Christians dictate that they own this site and that it is a religious site (they also force their beliefs over in the holidays section as well) and that if you don't agree with them then you need to go elsewhere. However, they don't own it contrary to belief and you are free to discuss anything you want per the Bill of Rights. Also that the Christian religion must not ever be questioned, otherwise it is often considered blasphemy. If you don't question anything, you will never get anywhere. If they don't like it, too bad. It's difficult for alot of them to understand that the world does not revolve around them.

That is a good question. One would think that followers of any faith would question, for how else can they be sure that their faith is properly placed? Anyone who does not question their religion or religion in general is blind and dangerous to themselves and others.

If you were to believe without questioning then the danger lies in what you are believing. Sometimes you have to question the scriptures, and other times you have to question the whole religion.

Anyone who tells you that you cannot or must not question religion is a fool and a dangerous one at that. Keep your distance from them, for they do not know what it is they are following for they refuse to ask!

It isn't wrong. It's wrong to be tactless and disrespectful of other religions. It is possible to make a point or ask a question without offending.
I would rather be safe than sorry. Too many people on here are downright nasty.

I'm a christian and I question everything. A statement and a question are two different things. I enjoy questions, as long as there is common respect. I do not feel that everyone should believe as I do and likewise I want my beliefs respected the same way

Ask away we can both learn from it.

Its not wrong, but you want to be sure not to offend people too badly, because if you post a question that is worded in a way to deliberately offend someone, the moderators will remove it or the offended person reports you.

Some think that religion is an 'untouchable' topic of conversation. That is it belief not to be questioned. Everything should be questioned. Without questioning a human being stagnates and does not grow.

Jesus encouraged the questioning when he discussed the church at Laodicea. They questioned everything. (He was talking with John) during the writing of Revelation.

It's a pity more people don't question their preachers. False religion is based on untruths.

In case you hadn't noticed, religion gets questioned all the time. It is best however to question in a civil manner.
