I am going to get To thyne ownself be true but I also see it written To thine ownself be true and To thine own self be true. I like the 1st one but of course I want it to be correct. Any one know the correct way it should be written.

Why is it that people come to this catagory just to tell people not to get a tattoo? If you are against them stay away from this catagory.

The first and last are both correct. The first is Old English the last Modern English. The middle seems an attempt to bridge the other two, but i wouldn't use it.

I think it's "To thine ownself be true", and I also saw "To thine own self be true" when I looked up the proper way to write it out. I think either will be ok, it's your preference. I love the quote, and is one of my all-time personal fave quotes.
I think it will make a great tattoo. Don't let anyone tell you different!!

as far as i know they correct term and spelling is "to thine own self be true." but i've also seem it spelt "theye"
