welterweights. Donald Curry and Marlon Starling. Who wins each fight. 12 rounds. Curry and Starling in their prime.
(Matching PBF, even though he thinks he's an all time great , against a Leonard or a Ray Robinson at welter would be folly even though I've done it here)

Both are interesting match ups. Curry was a good fighter who was quick and had a good left hook, but i don't think he had the best footwork and he would probably be the aggressor in this fight and i can see Floyd feinting and out maneuvering Curry and countering him in winning a close decision. Floyd vs Starling would be a different type of fight because Starling was a good defensive fighter who kept his hands high and had a tight defense and was more of a counter puncher like Floyd. So this might be a bit of a boring fight but Floyd's hand speed would be the difference as he would hit Starling just enough for a very close decision.

In a match-up between PBF and Starling I first asked myself did Marlon have the kind of power to take Floyd out by KO/TKO? His two fights with Mark Breland the first which went 11rds and the second went the distance. I fought Mark way back in my younger days (we grew up in the same neighborhood in Brooklyn and boxed at the same Police Athletic League). Mark was a great fighter, more customed to the amateurs though. The most notable thing about Breland was his "glass jaw", one good shot to the sweet spot and he was pushing up daisys. Based on this I don't see Starling stopping Floyd, and his hand speed, good though it was, is still lacking in comparison to PBF. The fight would be much like a "chess match" with alot of counter punching. In my opinion the fight would be similar to Bumphus vs Starling (Floyd's combinations have him winning on all score cards) With Mayweather winning a close UD.

Against The Lone Star Cobra, hand speed on par possibly lacking just a bit. Defense is where I give the greatest advantage to PBF, his ability to slip punches is textbook. This and the fact that he has mastered the ability to punch while avoiding or retreating from the opponent's attack would spell the demise to Curry. This fight would be a race to see who lands the KO shot first. Curry had great power but again the "glass jaw" was a chink in his armor. When McCallum dropped him I could swear I heard Curry snoring, the ref could've counted to 110 and he still wasn't getting up off the canvas. I see this fight ending in the 6th or 7th round, when PBF's high connect percentage finally wears down Curry and leaves him totally defenseless to a left hook, "9, 10 you're out" PBF wins. Great Match-Ups Brent, thanks.

Great question Brent! Mayweather Jr has quick hands and is an outstanding boxer. Curry was also an oustanding boxer and I believe he had more power than Mayweather although I believe that Mayweather would win a close decision. Agaist Starling who was a great ring tactician and a great defensive fighter would frustrate Mayweather would counterpunches and win a close decision.

Mayweather outclasses them both.
Sorry guys, Floyd really is as good as he says he is.
