Does this happen? Just when you're making out with a guy (like, teen-aged - they really have raging hormones)? What should I do if it were to happen to me?

I am nowhere near ready for sex, so what happens when he gets an erection while kissing me? I would just be so embarrassed.

Guys get erections at all sorts of times - like every 45 minutes while sleeping or while thinking about anythign even remotely sexual. And in a lot fo teen guys almost anythign from thinking about being seen naked to kissing will set the wheels in motion for them to get erect.
It's nothing for you or him to get embarassed abotu and it doesn't mean sex is required. It simply means he is turned on to some degree by what is happening and that is all there is to it.
As for what to do, well, that depends on you and him and how well you two know each other and how comfortable you are when together. In similar situations and a person with whom there was mutual attraction, I've had it ignored, commented on, felt through my pants, and more. Of course if we were seriously in a relationship some sexual activity would result but that is not expected nor is sex a good idea when in the early stages of getting to know each other.
So, relax, enjoy him as a person and a friend and if theings are progressing well between you feel free to explore his erection a little. but don;t allow yourself to do anything you are not ready for. And if he pushes for more than you want, just say no and mean it.

Well with my experience it has happened. But I think that all depends on if you're really into the person or not. But yes it does/can happen. If it happens to you and sex really isn't something you are wanting break away from the kiss and calm yourself down. Take a breather.
