Analyze what went wrong, what you contributed to it either for the good or for the bad, and learn to avoid these mistakes in future relationships. Realize that there is no "one" perfect person for everyone, you are likely to meet new people who might prove to be even better for you than your ex.

Sorry to say sometimes you never do. But you learn to push their memory to the back shelf and learn to cope. Pretty soon the pain turns to sweet memories of the past. And that's just what it is "The Past" and you move forward. A lot of us has an old High School sweet heart for example. Our first taste of real love. We never get over it. But as I said the memory is on that back shelf. Now and then a song will come up or a smell even that will remind you of long lost days. You will remember the good times and not the pain with a smile.

Getting over someone takes time. If it was your first love you will never get completely over them....a part of you is always going to feel for them....Just spend some time alone, out with friends, read a good book, go to the movies, try to keep your mind off of them as hard as it sounds but you will be able to move on....If you really loved them then it is going to hurt when you see them so prepare yourself. Just tell yourself that you can do better and you will...

The best way to get over someone is to stay away from them. You need to give yourself time to realize why you feel like you need to get over them. The fact that you want to get over the person means that you don't really want to be with them. So get away and give yourself some space, because if you keep hanging around them you will never be able to make a good effort to figure out if you still like them or not.

my suggestion in case of breaks ups and when u cant get over someone is
- to start a new activity, something u have been thinkin to do for many days but u could not.. now is the time to do it
- hang out with old friends, call them, arrange a get together or a party
- if possible start playing a sport. if u cant start exercising regularly. swimning is also good
- stop listening to those weired love/romantic songs. listen to something like rap or heavy metal .. i am just trying to say .. change ur music it affects a lot
let me know if this was of any help

It can be difficult. You just have to accept the situation and move on. Maybe coming up with a plan of action will help. You can plan what you will do for the day in a way that distracts you from thinking about the person.
Spend time pampering yourself. And find someone else to spend time with. Little by little as you take care of yourself the pain with be less and less.

It hink that, that is always something hard especially for girls because guys just end up actinglike if they never cared. But I think that the best way to get over someone is like trying to meet new people and forgetting about him little by little. Go out and have fun and try not to think about that someone.

I tell everyone this. This may be hard but u need to do it
WHAT U NEED TO DO: U need closure u may think that he is a complete ****** right now. But 1. u need to give back any of his things. 2. When u go over to his house to give them back. U NEED to talk with him. Just to completely come to an understanding with each other about the break-up 3. stay away from men. :Hang with ur girlfriends and forget about them
WHAT U SHOULD NEVER DO!: 1 Do not get one of ur friends to go over to his house to give his stuff back for u. 2.sex rebounds are bad well any rebound is. They make u happy during the moment but then u crash and burn after words.
3. If u decide to go to a lesbian bar or something to get away from men DO NOT get drunk. I fu have a lesbian hook up it will ruin everything and make u even more sad and confused.
So stay sober and stay with ur girlfriends.
Because ur girlfriends will never break up with u!

You don't ever really "get over" someone. They will always part of your memories, however, give it time. It will hurt like crazy for awhile but than one day you will notice that the pain is not a priority anymore. Hope this helps a little.

I don't think there is a such things as just getting over someone. You have to learn how to live without them in your life and to appreciate the times that you had together.
