1 - it is most possibly an ingredient in the meat or spongebob's secret sauce but then the crabby patty contains no sauces (as demonstrated in the "Krusty Crab Training Video" episode where the narrator explains how to be a good employee at the crusty crab. and he also shows the condiments in the crabby patty)
2 - (i still cannot recal the exact name of the episde in which this was) But it most certainly NOT plankton, because after he (plankton) runs out screaming spongebob and squidward ask Mr. K if it really was plankton. and krabs says no because the real secret ingredient is in the recepie at home in a "well hidden place" and squidward says, "let me guess, the secret recepie is hidden under your mattress..."
then crabs runs out of the crusty crab towards home to hide it somewhere else; therefore, never mentioning what the ingredient is.

i was wondering that myself. my cousin was watching the "crusty crab worker video" on tv when i came over. it cut off just before they said it. i was like, what? i wanna know what it is!
