i want to get my private pilots certificate and the go on and eventually get a commercial licenses

Go to your nearest airport or call the Airport manager, Ask him/her if there are any FBO's or instructors on the field that can teach you how to fly.

Small fields are what your looking for... Hook's, West Houston, Hoston Southwest, Pearland Regional, LaPorte, Baytown, Sugarland Regional, Weiser, Lone Star, CLeveland, even one at Hobby.
