If you live near a Marshall's, Ross, or TJ Maxx, you can get nice ones for ten bucks.

I don't know much about yoga, but I know that practice is the only way to get good at anything, so yes, I think you should keep practicing at home. There are DVDs one can rent/purchase for yoga instruction so you might try that for a while and then when you are feeling more confident and have some more cash you could sign up for a class. If it helps, I have a yoga DVD (Yoga for Dummies, as I recall, lol) and I had a hard time with the poses too at first. I guess I'm fairly flexible but I still had challenges, so not to worry, it's not just you!!

A descent one for around $20, but they can go up to around $80. You can get them at Target or specialty stores
