Happy Birthday!
Just wanted to make sure I didn't get in the doghouse too :)
If you have to ask if you should be offended about something, then (ideally) you shouldn't be. The fact is that you're hurt, and I think most people would be in your shoes.
Yes, you should say something to her. This stuff festers if it's not addressed. Be careful how you word it, though. Tell her how you feel (she can't argue with your feeling) about the situation:
"I felt sad when you didn't want to talk on my birthday, or even SAY happy birthday."
Here's the deal, though. When the discussion is over, let it go. We don't get points for thoughtless stuff people do.

You should definitely say something. Don't let it eat away at you and explode at a later time. I don't know if you have a good relationship with her or not, but just say "Hey, Mom, it upset me when I called today and you couldn't take 2 seconds to tell me happy birthday."
Was there something going on with her that she needed to keep the line open? I know my Mom never relies on call-waiting because she can't hear it every time.
In the end, be glad that you have great friends and had a good day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Well I know if my mom forgot my bday I would be absolutly devasted. How ever before over reacting, My first thought would be IS MOMMA OKAY? Maybe something is wrong with moms health. As a cna, and haven taken care of the elderly, sometimes, on somedays they are just not themselves. Our parents are treasures and before you decide to do anything or say something you'll regret, check on mom first. If mom is truely ok then justifiably be upset, and let mom now how you feel.
One other thing, Maybe mom wants you to think that she forgot your birthday because mom is planning something special for you on the weekend. Maybe you should wait till the weekend to see if thats case. You wouldnt want to ruin a surprize would ya? In any case I hope your mom is healthy and doing well. I also hope that shes planning a lil something special for you and that she has not just forgotten. That would be sad. *HAPPY BIRTHDAY*

My mom deals with the same thing with her mom. U should feel hurt and offended b/c she is ur mom. You should def tell her how u feel and see if she changes anything about it, if not from seeing what my mom goes through all the time, she'll never change and that's it. It's sad and hurtful but it's life. By the way HAPPY 26th BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!! and may u enjoy it all the way!!!!!!!!!!

Don't be offensive until you are certain your mom isn't doing anything for your birthday. If she still ignores that fact then talk to her if you feel you need to.

No my mother forgets sometimes to. Whenever she calls you just say momma aren't you forgetting something but I'm sure she didn't mean anything by it.

It sounds like this is unusual for her. You didn't say that she forgets every year. I'd be concerned that something is wrong if this isn't her normal behavior.
