I have been taking a multivitamin for a while now, and my urine is still that bright yellow color. I think it's from the vitamin B. Will my urine being that color end up hurting my kidneys and liver in the long run?

I've taken B vitamins and they cause your pee to be yellow. Just like vitamin C, B vitamins are also water soluble, so your body flushes out the excess. theres no harm in that. You should only worry if taking fat-soluble vitamins which get stored in your body.

I wonder, are the multivitamin's yellow? I'd bet your urine is colored from the coating on the pills. B vitamins don't generally cause changes in urine color. Most vitamin pills are pretty much worthless anyway, they do not dissolve and pass right through you. If you want to take effective vitamins you should be taking a liquid vitamin that is 100% bioavailable.

If the vitamins you are taking are from an organic health food store (meaning no chemicals are added to the vitamin, and it is 100% pure, natural material) then, no, multivitamins can have tremendous health benefits.

However, much of what you think is good (food included) is actually the opposite. You have to be careful about anything you are putting into your body, as even some vitamins can be harmful. The pharmacutical industry cannot patent natural "cures", such as vitamins, therefore, cannot profit from such things. So much of the vitamins that are marketed have actually been modified (in a bad way) to make them "drugs" so that drug companies can profit.

Self-medicating kills people every day. If you're not going to visit a nutritionist and put yourself on a multivitamin regimen, follow the dosing instructions on the label including quantity and frequency. Know too that synthetic vitamins like Centrum work best when they are taken with a meal.

I think the bright yellow is the bad stuff being filtered out of your body... I take a multi-vitamin everyday and that happens to me early in the morning but after that it is gone. Make sure you drink plenty of water with the vitamin so that it can cleanse.

Well they're all pretty much good, especially it taken in the right amounts. Um, some of the minerals can be disadvantages if taken in high doses. Zinc might be worse.

And take them with food as they can be a little hard on a delecate stomach. And only take them when you feel run-down.
