Isn't the concept of a "temporary marriage" for the convenience of the man and degrading for the woman?

OK, first of all that's bullshit.

Marriage should be with the intention of lasting. and not a temporary contract.

whatever Shiites added there is not Islamic period. and that fatwa or whatever it is is not accepted by the majority of Muslims who are Sunnis.

so next time when you ask this question direct it to Shiites and not Muslims in general. only 7.5% of the Muslim population is Shiahs. this website is an Iranian Shiite website.

Hello, this is not allowed for Sunni Muslims. For us, it is a fake marriage, no commitment or anything else. It forbidden and considered a sin.

But this is maybe allowed for another group of Muslims, who are shia'a. Just like Catholics and protestants.
And since your link is from sistani.org, it is 100% for the shia'a. as Sistani is a great Mufti for them.
