in school i was waiting for my friend and there was a crowd of goths and punks around me and i was standing out cause i was the only one in a white abercrombie sweatshirt. i have no problem with goths but they started staring at me in a bad way especially the girls any idea why

You care to dress different than they do, people fear different. They don't understand. Don't worry about it. If you are comfortable with yourself then their opinion does not matter.

Yeah, because that's what they do...stand around and try to be unique by being just like a million other people while they tell themselves they're better than everyone else. If they didn't have a crappy attitude in the first place, they wouldn't feel the need to dress and act like freaks. Expecting them to be nice to you is a bad idea.
Sometimes you CAN tell a lot about a person by how they look. Especially if that person looks that way for the sole purpose of alienating other people.

Coming from a former goth: Goths really do hate all and everything (at least the real ones do- there will always be wannabes). You did not fit in with their fashion statement (even though chances are you have the same clothing designer).
Just ignore them- they want to be left alone (at least that's how I was when I was like that).
BTW Real Goths want to be anything BUT normal. Just looked at.

Its called 'jealousy.' The reason they are the way they are is because they are most likely one or more of the following: broke, sad, lonely, ugly, and/or over dramatic. You sound like a normal regular person, which they secretly want to be, but fall short of, so they dress and act like that and glare at you to try and make you feel like the outsider. Long story short, F 'em. Wait till they have to clean up to get a job, thats the really funny part!!

I hate to be the one to break this to you but, basically it is because people suck. The only worse than sucky individuals is sucky groups. I doubt that you are hated. From your description you were just judged for being different. That is the beginning of all true prejudice. I think you should just shake it off and live your life.

Dont worry about them...everyone had there own circle of friends, you dont have to be liked by everyone...They might do it to alot of people, it doesnt nessacarly mean they have just focused on you..they probelry dont even remember doing it. Get them out of your mind and just focus on your own friends, fun and school work
