a whole Brigade? just about the whole amphibious fleet......4 or more Essex LPH/LPAs, 4 or more Whitby Islands, 6 or better of the Gunston Hall/ Germantowns.......plus with 10,000 odd Marines at risk, the Navy would cover them with at least 3 Carrier Battle groups of CVNs DDGs, CGs....plus the Fleet train of support ships.......oilers, cargo, supply........so we're looking at 50 plus ships, which today would be a major undertaking of at least 1/2 if not more of the afloat-available hulls. This isn't 1944 when Ray Spruance had 500 plus ships to re-take the Marianna's.....or even 1990 when there were 6 carrier groups ready to back 2 brigade size landings in Kuwait.

one they are big ships but usually belong to a battle group
