I don't think I'd have a relationship with her. You can't trust her to stay with you if someone she thinks is "better" comes along. You certainly can be friends with her, but as far as hanging out, dating, being together, I wouldn't. You're just setting youself up for more hurt. You deserve someone who thinks you're #1.

Hi Steve-O,
A tough one, but here goes..First of all, show me anyone that's perfect. Secondly, OK you got dropped like a hot potatoe, but be advised that ego is a dangerous thing that can sometimes lead you to a wrong and very emotional decision making process. Ponder this, if you really do still like the girl, and perhaps would like to get back together with her, you don't have to come back as a doormat. Honesty is the best solution here. Make a date with her, get somewhere quiet and private, so you can communicate with here without any interference. Be honest, tell her how you feel, how hurt you were, don't be agressive, take things quietly. Give her time to think about what you are saying. By the way, don't go into this meeting with any preconceived ideas, just be ready for a meeting of the minds. Lay it out exactly as you feel comfortable doing. Just tell her how you really (still) feel about her, but that she just has to be serious about the future (without being too heavy) and that you feel that before the two of you can go any further, you have to make sure she understands that for you to start again, you need her to understand the lie of the land regarding the future for the two of you. By the way, if you don't feel strongly about her, just walk away and forget the whole thing. She needs to be an honest, sincere type of girl who can also put her ego aside to sit through a conversation like this with you. Always be honest in your relationships, and the rule of success with a good partner is communicate, communicate, communicate! Hope this helps you. Cheers from Australia.

Did you guys have an understanding about just dating and not being committed. If so you can't be salty that she tried the waters again, but if it was suppose to be just you and her, then you should have walked away. Out of respect she shouldn't have even put you in that type of situation. My boyfriend and I before we got committed we understood that we were just dating. NO Commitment. However, even though we would go out on other dates we never disrespected each other buy having anyone else around or even making mention of it. When we made a commitment then we left everyone else alone.

If you are not comfortable with being "old reliable" then you should inform the female that is how she made you feel last time and that you don't want it to be a habit. Tell her of your feelings and ask her of hers for you. Be honest and open as this is the only way you will learn of where this relationship may be heading. Best of luck.

I was the second choice candidate for the job I have now. The first guy backed out.
All pride aside, I have the job and I kick @$$ at it.
I know that it's not the same as a girl. But, you wanted to be with her, now you are.
I think it's okay to share that concern with her, but let her know you love her and you're happy to be with her.
And don't treat her like crap. She doesn't deserve it.

Well, my take on it is that she chose someone else over you... is she likely to do it again? Probably. Move on dude. It was apparent that at one point you weren't good enough for her, why should you think that she won't feel that way again. You want a woman who WANTS and CHOOSES you, not settles on you.
