from my crutchfield catalog..
plasmas has a better viewing angle, contrast ratio and black level.. has a moderate potential for screen burn ins.. "screens phosphor coating creates life like color that is clostest to conventional tube tvs".. the CON is that the screen might also reflect room light..
lcds dont have the potential burn in possibility and weighs less.. CON is that the picture quality "slightly less natural than top plasmas"..
i have a 42" panasonic plasma hdtv.. and it is nice.. had it for about a year or so

An LCD TV is more reliable than a Plasma TV. A Plasma TV warms up a room, and they are pretty expensive. I would rather get an LCD TV.

I'm glad you stated that you were interested in a 32". At that size, the LCD pretty much what you'll be buying. Plasma's are really for 42" and greater. They each have their pro's and cons, but they're both so good these days, there's really not that much of a difference.
Do they even make 32" plasmas? I thought they were all bigger.

Well Plasma's have an overall better picture... BUT after a few yrs, depending on the usage, the plasma gets burned up and the tv is no good! so yeah LCD's las longer.

32" is too small for Plasma. I think 32" is too small for HDTV, but the LCD sets look pretty good. If you can possibly swing it, go for 37" at least.
