if your son died to save someones life and they used there name in vain or spoke ill of them you would'nt have them round for tea let alone take care of them for all time so why do we all expect god to? most of us are going to hell you know.

I completely agree, On Judgement Day only a handful are going home with the Lord.. Unless you get right with God now and become seperate from the world , you can Pray till your breathless but God doesnt hear a sinner! god says depart from i do not know you!

We believe that we are going to heaven because we want to believe it. We want to think that we are special and better than everyone else. We want to believe that our religion and our traditions and customs give us favor with God, who forgives us of previous offenses.

I'll tell you from experience that the greater a person becomes, the more powerful, confident, caring, and forgiving they are. It is not unreasonable that the most powerful being in the universe can forgive disrespect to His name under reconciliatory conditions. It is not unreasonable to believe that there exists an eternal soul which can find/create "heaven," and harmony/peace with God and nature.

With a sincere apology and full restitution of damages, I would have a person over for "tea," despite having disrespected my child in death. Either way, my peace would not be violated and I would continue in my own "heaven."

You are assuming that anyone is going to hell, or that there actually IS a hell, since the word isn't even in the bible. However, many people assume they are going to heaven because they believe the 'once saved always saved' theory of religion. Many of us think that is mere hogwash, since they continue to do things they know are wrong. I don't know where I'm going, but I think there are many levels of heaven, and most people get in

No we are not because Hell doesn't exist - it was made up by man to frighten and empower. Whatever we do in this earthly life God loves us and doesn't judge. We all have to judge ourselves when we go to Heaven, or Spirit world as I call it being a Spiritualist and face up to what we have done in this earthly life.

not every one "thinks" they are going to Heaven... some do not beleive in Heaven... but there are many who "think" they are going because they are "good" people.... these are in for a shock when they stand in judgment.... I KNOW I am going to Heaven... Praise God...... want to come along? email me... I accept questions concerning the basics of The True Christian Faith. 1 honest question receives 1 honest answer to the best of my ability.

"to 'err is human, to forgive divine"

There are many religious zealots inhabiting the busy halls of Hades.

Most of you are going to hell. Big Nic says it beginning to take the fun out of finding souls to condemn to everlasting torture. Plus its getting so busy you wouldn't believe the the air-con bills. Some days you just can't enjoy a good blaspheme for all the wailing and gnashing of teeth.............

Judge not - lest you be judged.

I believe most "hope" they will go to heaven. If I went to hell I would meet many people who owe me money. Maybe that wouldn't be so bad.

if you have to pass an english exam to go to heaven, then i understand why you say that a lot of people will go to hell... anyway, god gave us salvation (the check spelling button) but some people refuse to accept it so they`re damned forever..

Not everyone thinks they are going to heaven. And most of us who are currently earthbound humans don't really profess to know where we (or anyone else, for that matter) are going in the afterlife. We can hope, and we can pray, but we don't KNOW. And neither do you.

I am agnostic, so I do not believe in heaven or hell. When you are dead - that's it.
So not everyone does think they're going to heaven you see.
