Great. What does my religion have to do with the environment, stem cell research, the war in Iraq, lying to the American people, abortion rights, immigrant rights? Only Republicans try to couple politics and religion, something prohibited by our constitution: "separation of church and state."

Personally, I am not pleased with the election results. The thought of Nancy Pelosi taking over the House gives me chills, and the thought of a Democratic majority in the Senate as well scares the hell out of me, however small that majority may be.

However, Rumsfeld is out as well, so maybe the Iraq war can finally begin to get sorted out.

I am a confirmed Catholic, and a proud Republican.

I am pleased that there is more of a balance now. We need those checks and balances so one party doesn't gain too much power. I am pagan and I admit that my religious views did play a role in how I voted on certain issues and which candidates I supported with my vote. But mostly - I think we needed a change because what our previous government representatives were doing wasn't working. Maybe now we can get both sides to work together to find viable solutions, instead of them spending all their time and resources smearing eachother.

I'm Canadian but my husband and his family are American.

I'm glad of the Democratic majority. Frankly, someone needs to put the reigns on Bush, and his cohorts, and the Republicans aren't doing it.

This is quite possibly the worst gvt that's been in power in the last century.

I'm Wiccan. My husband is the son of a Methodist minister though he leans towards Buddhism.

I'm torn about the election results. I'm glad we'll finally have a chance to move away from the religion-infused politics, but quite frankly I'm worried about my taxes. So I'm happy, but wary.

I'm Wiccan.

I am proud our country had the courage to ask for a change. I am a Christian and I believe that for too long there have been people in power who claim to be Christians and use their Christianity to bolster their polls and cover their misdeeds. I hope that we may now be able to overcome some of the scandal and misuse of power.

I'm an Atheist and VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY strong Democrat. I'm VERY excited that we won the house back. I was scared that our country was heading toward the dark ages with new laws based on religious beliefs. Now that we are back, I'm confident that our country will begin to improve.

I'm just counting the DAYS until 2008......

Krishna Consciousness- I am not the least concerned with the election. I rely on God (Krishna, Allah, Jehovah etc. ) no matter what the unscrupulous government is doing.
