I had an English Springer that was insanely attached. She would spin in circles and pee everywhere at the sight of me. I would walk to the post office (which was right next door) and when I walked back in the door she acted as if she had been left alone for years and years. I couldn't go to the bathroom without leaving the door open. Needless to say she went everywhere with me! She eventually calmed down some after a few years, but was definitely a people dog!!

The love of my life is agoraphobic, which means she cannot go outside on her own. Well, she has a dog, it is a "PSYCHIATRIC SERVICE DOG". The dog provides a focal point for her to focus on. The dog also is so close to what is going on, that the dog actually picks up on her anxiety. She will get into her lap and start licking her, trying to get her attention off of what is making the anxiety go up. Had it not been for this dog, I probably would have never met her, and I am glad I did. So, can a dog get attached..... OH YES, and JEALOUS.... oh my !!!.... if I try to spend some time with my love.. guess who is trying to get in the middle and push me away !?!?/,...... yep...... the DOG !! And I've been with her over 6 months !! if you need more info on psyc dogs.. email servicedog4u@yahoo.com

My Chihuahua is extremely attached! He has severe seperation anxiety and cannot be left alone. He gets to go everywhere with us. We travel from state to state (every few weeks) and he goes with us, we never leave him behind. This dog is more of a baby than a dog. He sleeps in our bed, under the covers with us.

Most dogs attach to members of the family! It is a good thing as long as you have control of the dog, and not dealing with seperation anxiety issues.

My American Eskimo follows me EVERYWHERE! I have to make sure I shut the bathroom door fully because if I don't, when I try to go tinkle she will burst in like she's on fire and lay at my feet. It is SOOOO disturbing lol Also, when I take a shower, she will whine at the door unless I let her in and she sits on the toilet and waits for me to get out. I can't be anywhere in the house without her being two paces behind me. It's cute for the most part, I love her to death. But when I trip over her in the kitchen ESPECIALLY while cooking, it makes me mad lol But her cute little face is too much for me! I can't stay mad long. ESPECIALLY when she dances for noodles. It is SO cute!

I have a 14 week old Bichonpoo who follows me everywhere. If I go in the bathroom and close the door she cries. When I put her in her pen for the night she would cry but now she knows she has to be there and is quiet but she wants to be with me every second.

I just put him to sleep in May of this year.

I kept hoping that he would pass in his sleep. I was told by everyone that knew him that I had to make the decision. That he knew I was not ready to let him go and he would hold on forever, for my sake.

I had him for 15 years and he was the love of my life.
