Okay, the Politically correct answer is that yes he's too old for you and that yes technically you should be at least 18 before you have sex, etc, otherwise he can get in trouble (and It is certainly true that he could get in trouble if you have sex and if somehow the police found out about it). However, the real-life truth is that age is a relative thing...it really depends on the maturity of both parties involved. Different people get along with different age groups for various reasons - culture, morality, spirituality, maturity both sexual and intellectual and emotional, etc....these are all factors which will play a part in two people "clicking".

In most Western countries, most people would consider a 12 year age gap to be way too big. But if you look at other countries, other cultures, it's not uncommon for young people to be with old people, etc. Even if you go back as recently as 100 years ago in the Western world, it was considered normal - hell, even "proper" - for a young woman to marry someone 15+ years older than her...just because they figured that by then the man would be well established, would be less inclined to cheat, more inclined to settle down, etc. So, again, everything is relative.

And while experience does certainly account for many things and will perhaps give you the ability to be a better judge of character...in the end, age is really just a concept, a number, and not necessarily an accurate judge of experience (there are immature 30 year olds and very mature 15 year olds for example)...and the world and all its complex relationships can't be defined so easily as a simple yes/no, right/wrong answer...even all the experience in the world can't account for the fact that every relationship is different and can't be viewed in the same framework as another . In the end you must decide for yourself what is right and what is wrong. Be careful...respect yourself...make the best choices you can and learn from your mistakes. Life is a journey with many roads to take.

Honey don't be in a rush to get in a relationship with anyone. Enjoy your youth. I know that you may think you are ready for this but you are not. A man that age only wants one thing from you and its not "company". I know you think I'm some old lady trying to spoil your fun but I'm only 22 so I'm not that much older then you. Also think about what kind of person he is if he is willing to break the law with you because technically you are still a child. If he really cares for you he will wait.

there is no way that any 16 year old can be mature enough to be with a 28 year old. you two are in completely different stages in your lives, and not only could you get hurt but he could go to jail. he is right for telling you you're too young. if someone that much older than you says it is okay for you to be together, there is something wrong with him. when age difference is involved, many men date significantly younger girls because they know that they can have control over them.
stay smart and keep it at your age level until you're old enough to take care of yourself.

Oh, sweetie, please RUN RUN RUN from this man. I know you are going to think I sound like an old prude or something (i'm really not), but any grown man who wants to have any kind of romantic relationship with a girl your age has serious problems and you really don't want to go there. There are reasons why it is illegal. It's for your protection. Trust me, this will break your heart, change you in ways you can't even understand right now, and hurt a lot of people, like your family. Don't return his calls, don't talk to him anymore, and go back to being a high school student. If he keeps trying to contact you, tell your parents. I'm really serious. I don't want to scare you, but trust me, this is very bad news. You are much too young to be involved with this kind of thing. Please, please stay away from this "man" and just concentrate on your studies and your friends at school.

Give it up. one of my very good friends who was at the time 15 started dating a 24 year old and she hid it from her parents so when they found out they called the cops on him.
A 28 year old Man should not be dating a 16 year old Girl anyways. there are plenty of hot 16 year old boys out there for you.

enjoy your teenage years - or sneak around and hide from those that can call the law down on you. your decision.

in case you're wondering. I'm the parent of a 17 year old that did the same thing, only she was 14 and sneaking out of the house while her dad and I were asleep. she's spent the last three years not having any trust from her parents, and going from job to job to job, with no sense of purpose.

the law is there to protect you first of all...

secondly you are too young and bravo to this man for being a man and trying to protect not only your innocence but your feelings

Right now it may not seem like a bad idea but you guys are on different levels of experence. After you graduate and still want to date sure have fun...but don't get too serious too quick.

You are too young! Keep your crush!!! Just don't Act on it!!! You're still a kid, hard as that is to swallow! Find a guy 18 or under to transfer that crush to...your hormones are speaking, not your heart. I was there, I fell in love, but was it really love? I grew up...it only gets better and better, believe me.

You are too young for him, becuz you can get him in serious trouble. Anybody can disagree with this and get his @ss locked up. Think about what you are saying first before you just jump into something very hazardous like that. Just wait until you are 18. It will be legal then
