You question is defined by Yahoo as "chatting."
Yahoo has to agree with the reporting - otherwise nothing happens.
If you see offensive questions, please report them, or this situation will continue.
Also, if you post more thought-provoking questions in the future, you won't have to worry about this any more.
Good luck!

Yes, it has happened to me also, for answering a perverted question. I wonder if the person who asked the question was reported. It happens. You have vented. Let it go, it is not worth it. I really do not think that the people at YA pay any attention to the things that they are sent for abuse. I think they just hit a button and push it through. I wonder if I can get a job, a no brainier, no responsibility place of employment! There are some very disturbing things I have read on here that were not removed. Oh, well. Hope you feel better after venting. And what did you have for dinner? Hope you have a better evening. God bless

I totally agree...it seems like the things I expect to get reported for just fly right over peoples heads and then I get a violation notice email that is so completely off the wall that it infuriates me! At least report me for a good reason! Some people just need to get a life...I will probably get reported for saying that.

Honestly, I have never been reported, so it's hard for me to say.
However, do agree that many of the questions here on Y!A are much worse than what you've posted. And I don't have the time, patience, or willingness to go around reporting them all...I wish that Yahoo had a better method for monitoring what gets posted.

Yes, I do find it irritating. I was reported for a "slur and epithet" when all I said was I think teachers have bigger things to worry about than if their students are abusing Yahoo Answers. No slang, no vulgarity, no disparaging remarks whatsoever. I give my actual opinion on questions and even though they are funny or tongue-in-cheek sometimes I am not one of the people who use a throw-away account to create a ruckus on this site. I care about my score and about adhering to the community guidelines for using this site.

OK while is was petty for someone to report you for that it does actually break the Chatting & Personal Communications rules.
As for the racist etc stuff - I agree with you 100%, they really do need to police this place better and get rid of that sort of crap much faster.

By Yahoo not actually looking at the reported Q&A's, they are making a mockery of the reporting system.
Asking what you asked was a legitimate question.

It is irritating. If I read a question I find worthless, I just move on. By the way, I'm having halibut for dinner.
