I think it's means that in order to have an opinion about something, you have to know what you're talking about first. For example, ask someone if they like a certain poltician. Make sure it's one they know, even use President Bush if you have to. A lot of people will give you a clear-cut yes or no answer. Ask them why, and listen to all of the bogus excuses that most people will give you. It's quite interesting to see how stupid and dishonest some people really are.

Meaning that how could something or someone be hated or loved if you don't know them/it inside out. Like racism how can you make a stereotype on one race off of one person when you have not met every person from that race.

it means that you should not judge a book by it's cover which also means that you should not stereotype someone or something without getting to know them..after you have spent some time getting to know a person or thing in case u r reading a book, you can the judge whether or not you like them on the basis of the indormation you got while getting to know them
