Is there a universal tester in which you can plug in a Pentium chip and it will tell you exactly what you have? I came across a dozen Pentium chips but have no idea just what kind they are. Is there a universal socket and tester that will give me the information as to what kind, speed, HZ, etc? I know that there are memory testers but can find NO information on a CPU tester.

it should tell you on top.. it has a bunch of numbers.. and one of them is the frequency or HZ of it.. if not.. just get any motherboard with the right socket and boot it up and itll tell you on the boot screen
