Talk to her doctor before giving her anything for a supplement. But try to get her to eat at least one banana a day and give her a cup or 2 of sports drink. Leg cramps are usually from a lack of potassium.

I had these often throughout my childhood and adolescence. Luckily I have a saint of a father who would get up to sit with me and rub my legs. Like another respondent said, this helped the most, along with the comfort of a parent (I remember some nights not wanting to wake my mom or dad and suffering in agony).
Massage her legs, help her to relax and take her mind off of it. Maybe a warm bath before bedtime would help?

there is nothing you can give her. Her muscles are tighting up in the middle of the night alls you can do is massague her leg or what would help is put your hand at the bottom of her foot ( the heal ) and one at the top ( like the toes ) and bend it back a little but gently this will work up the pain and it will go away.

i used to have those when i was younger....i remember being 7 and awaken by a horrible cramp in both my legs..it would literally bring tears to my eyes, my doctor called these growing pains, thats pretty much what they are because we as humans do most of our growing at night while we are asleep...
my mom used to give me some tylenol, rub my legs and mostly tell me to walk it out, yeah it doesnt feel good when your legs are cramping but it sometimes does ease the pain quicker

Ohhh been there done that! It hurts like you wouldn't believe. I don't know how to stop it because they still happen to me sometimes. I think it's caused from not rolling over or moving your legs around while you sleep. Usually cramps happen from being in one position for too long. I hope you figure it out though...good luck :-)
