Yes. I am in the midst of purchasing a home and yes, it does. So be careful in the future. Write out a budget and when you withdraw money from your checking account, try not to take out anything else until you see all your checks clear AND all your monthly fees taken out. Start a separate savings account where they take out the money direct deposit - 25, 50 bucks a month, whatever it doesn't matter - but put the money in a savings account in some remote bank 200 miles away from you like in some hick town in Indiana that you would never go to on a regular bases and watch your money grow!!!!!!!!!! Then if you have an emergency, you can use that instead of overdrawing on your checking account - knowing that you have overdraft protection but are the fees for that worth it? I don't think so. God Bless you...

In most cases they give you a chance to make good before they report a single bounced check. If you fail to correct the issue or have multiple bounced checks, your credit could be damaged.

The only way would be if you don't make good on the money you owe for the insufficient funds. Also, you could be held criminally liable as well if you dont pay.

if they put it thru again and it does not go thru...the could report you to a chex systems (it's what banks use to tell people's checking acct. history..kind of like credit reports for credit cards). If they do report you to there, yes, it COULD end up on your credit report. When they put it thru again, make sure you have money in it!
